Fears and Phobias
A fear response is a normal reaction to any perceived threat. It is normal to feel a bit nervous or shaky if you see a big, hairy spider running your way or it is your turn to stand up and do a presentation at work. While your response may not be very comfortable, it is normal to have some fear or level of anxiety these perceived threats. These reactions are easily dealt with through Hypnosis by teaching your mind how to be calm and in control in the presence of your perceived fears.
A phobia, on the other hand, is a life altering, overwhelming fear of an object, animal or situation. A person with a specific phobia will do everything to avoid the object or situation and spend time worrying about it, to the extent their lives are planned around it. Phobias come from experiences or learned from parent’s responses.
If you suffer with a fear or phobias, it is likely to affect your life in some way. A usual response will include symptoms such as:
• Panic attacks and excessive fear
• Feelings of losing control
• Tears and crying
• Rapid heartbeat and shortness of breath
• Trembling and sweating
• A strong desire to get away
Does any of that sound familiar? Why continue to suffer?
Hypnotherapy is highly effective in treating phobias. I know, I have worked successfully over the years with resolving many different types of fears and phobia. The fear response comes from the fight or flight response in the unconscious mind. Hypnotherapy allow us to access this part and negotiate a calmer response to the trigger thus breaking down the fear. This means you regain control allowing you to be free to live your life the way you want to. We usually require 4 – 6 sessions.
